Introduction

You’ll learn how to configure Two-Factor Authentication for cPanel.

Point to remember: A smartphone is needed for setting up 2FA.

First move:

With the username and password, log in to your cPanel account. You can operate cPanel by rolling to https://anydomainname.com/cpanel > “anydomainname” is your website’s domain.

 

Second move: In the second move, you must search “Two” in the search bar of cPanel.

 

Third move: Here, once you locate the Two-Factor Authentication icon. Then, you have to click on the Two-Factor Authentication icon.

 

Fourth move: Next, you must set up the Two-Factor Authentication button to advance.

 

 

Two-Factor Authentication via QR Code Method

First move: As mentioned above, you have to use the smartphone to scan the QR Code shown under Step 1.

 

Point to remember: Once you have scanned the QR Code on your device, a security code will produced.

Second Move: In this step, you have to type the security code (shown in your phone app) under the second move in the box labeled Security Code. Then, tap on the Configure Two-Factor Authentication button.

 

 

Point to be remember: The security code is valid for 30 seconds. If the code is not mentioned within that period, the smartphone app will proceed with the new code by informing the old code is invalid.

Two-Factor Authentication via Manual Entry Method

First move: Make sure to use your smartphone to manually enter the Account as it’s displayed in the Manual Entry section of cPanel.

 

 

Second move: Use the smartphone to manually type the Key as it is shown in the Manual Entry section of cPanel.

 

 

Notice: Once the Account and key are caught on your device, a security code will be processed.

Third move: Here, you have to type the security code shown in your smartphone app under second move 2 in the box labeled Security Code. Then, tap on the Configure Two-Factor Authentication button.

 

Fourth move: Once successfully done. You will see the following message.
