How to Set up ASP.NET Version in Plesk?

This article will guide you to set up the ASP.NET version of your website in Plesk. You can opt for the appropriate Microsoft ASP.NET version based on the code generated for your website. It is suggested to opt for version 3.5 when working with ASP.NET versions 2.0-3.5 and select version 4.5 dealing with ASP.NET versions 4.0 and new ones if available. Just follow these steps to configure the ASP.NET version of Plesk via hosting settings.

Steps to set up ASP.NET Version in Plesk

Access Plesk Control Panel:

Log in to your Plesk control panel using your credentials.

 

 

Navigate to Websites & Domains

  • On the Plesk dashboard, locate the “Websites & Domains” section in the sidebar and click on it.

 

Select Your Website

  • A list of websites hosted on your server will be displayed. Click on the website for which you want to configure the ASP.NET version.

Open Hosting Settings

  • Within the website’s management panel, find the “Hosting Settings” section and click on it.

 

Enable and Choose ASP.NET Version

  • Look for the “Microsoft ASP.NET support” section. If it’s disabled, click “Switch On” to enable it.
  • Once enabled, you’ll see a dropdown menu titled “ASP.NET versions” or “Version“. Select the specific ASP.NET version your website requires from this menu.

  Save Changes:

  • After selecting the version, click “OK” or the appropriate button to save the configuration.

Important Notes:

  • Not all ASP.NET versions might be available on your Plesk server. It depends on the versions your hosting provider offers.
  • If the desired version isn’t listed, you might need to contact your web hosting provider to see if they can enable it for your account.
